Melissa Anderson Culture Lesson Plan I. Standards Culture C. Apply an understanding of culture as an integrated whole that explains the functions and interactions of language, literature, the arts, traditions, beliefs and values, and behavior patters.
II. Results/Expected Learning Outcome A. The student will get in a group or work alone. B. The student will choose a country and research its: 1. History 2. Capital/Major Cities 3. Type of Government 4. Food 5. Climate 6. Imports/Exports 7. Daily Life (Jobs, Religion, Family, etc…) 8. Famous People 9. Something special about this country III. Evaluation A. There will be a rubric with each area listed above and an amount of points possible B. There will be an example of the depth and amount of examples needed for each point possibility IV. Curriculum A. This might fit into a World History class when the discussion of a immigration or ancestry is present V. Instruction A. Give the students time in class to work together as a group or individually B. They may spend time researching in the classroom or the library C. The project must be presented live in front of the class or through a video that the student(s) created VI. Discussion Questions A. What are some similarities between the countries presented? B. What are some differenced between the countries presented? C. Where did you ancestors come from? D. What kind of changes did people immigrating to America have to face? |
